Evo fabric is a 2 layer fabric that is much stronger than black poly and is designed to be reused for 5+ years with the following advantages:
The fabric and T drip tape are installed and removed in a single step thus saving a lot of field time.
The driptape is precisely located in a sewn pocket which locates the tape in the row at the optimal distance from the plant roots.
The drip tape in protected in this pocket from pest damage, hoe and UV exposure thus adding years to the life of the drip tape.
The drip tape emitters are spaced to water only the plant roots, are free of dirt blockage and are held in the up position.
The drip tape significantly reduces water useage by precisely watering and reducing evaporation as the wet soil is shaded by the fabric and best of all weeds get to steal no water!
The grower can accurately estimate their water use as they will know exactly how many emitters per row and the flow rate per water cycle.
Precision watering with an automatic Orbit water timer prevents under and overwatering and allows the grower to water at optimal times even when away from the farm.
The fabric keeps Salads and Vines clean which mimimizes washing and improves pollination.
The fabric allows workers to work and harvest in wetter conditions w/no mud
Once the fabric plant placement holes are cut, then you have a precise plant count for each row which will make optimal spacing, and make planning easier. (We suggest adding a tag to each roll with the plant count and spacing for each row)
The fabric allows rainwater to flow through instead of puddling which reduces plant rot, assures even moisture distribution and more oxygen to the roots.
The fabric warms the soil for earlier planting but does not overheat the way black poly does in summer.
The fabric spun/sewn layers are very strong so are not as easily damaged.
The fabric serves as a barrier to all weed seeds, early or late. Thus only the plants get all the water and nutrients thus a bigger, better crop. Even rooted weeds like Johnson Grass has a hard time suviving the lack of light.
Wild flower growers can use the fabric to save the early seed drop until they harvest the tops and sweep or vacuum the dropped seed.
We strongly recomend that the fabric be removed or replanted right after each crop is finished to reduce damage and increase the lifespan of the fabric.
